Early access list

When you reserve a spot, we store your email, the description you wrote about your business, and the time you agreed we could email you. If you answer the optional question, we also store whether you already have a website. We store the country of the request, which comes from the network, not from something you type. If you sign up again with the same email, we update your existing spot instead of adding a second one.

To catch typos, we check that your email's domain (the part after the @) can receive mail. Only the domain is looked up, through Cloudflare's DNS service.

We use this to send your invite, to understand which kinds of businesses are interested, and to start your first site from the description you wrote. We email you when your invite is ready, and we do not send a newsletter.

Contact messages

When you use the contact form, we store your name, email address, the topic you chose, your message, and the time you sent it. We also store the country of the request, which comes from the network, not from something you type. The same domain check used for early access runs on the email address, and only the domain is looked up.

We use this to read your message and reply to you. A copy is emailed to hello@benanko.com. We do not add you to a newsletter because you contacted us.

The Benanko app

When you have an account, the Benanko app collects:

• Account information such as your name, email address, and sign-in details.
• Usage information such as pages you open, features you use, and log data.
• Device information such as browser type, operating system, and IP address.

We use this to provide the app, keep accounts secure, and send important updates about your account or the service.

Service providers

This website is hosted on Cloudflare. The early-access list and contact messages are stored in a Cloudflare database. Contact notifications are sent with Cloudflare Email Service.

The Benanko app uses service providers to operate accounts and the product. We share only what they need to do that work. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share the early-access list with advertisers.

How long we keep it

We keep early-access details until we have sent your invite and no longer need them to start your site, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first. We may keep the email after the invite so we do not invite the same person twice, until you ask us to delete it.

We keep contact messages until we have replied and no longer need them to handle your request, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first.

We keep account information while your account is open, and as needed to meet legal requirements.

Your rights

Email hello@benanko.com from the address you used and ask us to delete your early-access row or a contact message. For an app account, you can ask us from that same address to update or delete account information.

Changes

We will update this page when these practices change, and we will change the effective date at the top. The terms for using Benanko are on the terms of service page.
